Ordinarily, I wouldn’t do a cartoon on this kind of subject, especially when there are far more important things going on in the world. But, I don’t really feel like I have anything valuable to say about the Hatian earthquake, nor do I have a clever or interesting way of presenting the topic at this time.
The above image, however, I found way too hilarious to pass up, and another thing about this topic which makes it easier to address is that it’s an entirely man-made conflict with pretty obvious villains. I’ve enjoyed Conan O’Brien’s late night show since at least the late ’90s–probably my favorite segment involved a bunch of statues he and his prop crew developed of Jesus participating in various “sports,” such as “Jesus & Blackjack,” “Sumo Wrestling Jesus,” “Jesus Stealing from Derek Jeter’s Locker,” and “Cockfighting Jesus.” Leno, meanwhile, has been the Garfield of stage comedy for as long as I can remember, and his behavior in this Tonight Show mess has been weasel-like, at best.
