I (Screw) New York

John Boehner was re-elected Speaker of the House this week despite rumors of a possible mutiny among Congressional Republicans for his bumbling, ineffective leadership during the “fiscal cliff” negotiations in the weeks before.

Among those floated as a possible replacement was Eric Cantor, who voted against the budget compromise bill. Boehner, in retaliation, threw a cry-baby fit and punted a bill for disaster relief to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, delaying all but the first $9 billion in aid until some unspecified point in the future.

That’s the kind of leadership it takes to preside over the “least productive Congress in decades,” apparently–looks like we get to look forward to at least two more years of it, now!
