Seems outdated after the health care shindig last week, but points for effort.

Not sure I agree with you there. I think it’ll continue to remain accurate and timely until Obama actually uses the power of the Executive Branch to do something. So far, all he’s really done is talk the talk, but when it comes to walking the walk he’s spent most of his time standing there or going backwards in an effort to please a bunch of children who basically want him dead.

The Republican leadership likes to go on and on about Obama being an “appeaser” with regard to unfriendly foreign governments, even though a lot of them don’t seem to know what that even means. The President’s an appeaser, all right, but the whom in this case isn’t Iran or al Qaeda or the Martian Moon Pirates–it’s the Republicans themselves. The verbal smackdowns Obama keeps giving them are great and all, but let’s see him back his aggressive words up with equally aggressive actions. He needs to be a boxer on this, not a professional wrestler.

I realize we spent the last eight years with a President who was all action and no thought, but the remedy for that isn’t one who’s all thought and no action. He’s given the opposition more than a few opportunities to contribute anything useful, and they’ve consistently blown it.

There was no chance in hell the Republicans were gonna show up at that health care boondoggle with workable ideas, not after the Teabaggers turned on Senator Brown. All they could do was repeat the same tired talking points, even after the Dems swept them aside just minutes earlier. The Republicans left the health care summit with absolutely NOTHING. I think it clear we’ve entered the endgame, folks, and Obama is in the driver’s seat.

Obama continues to put Republicans on the spot by putting their ideas into the bill and STILL getting no support. He’s building the case for reconciliation in front of our eyes…and it’s working. Some of the Democrats who voted against the House bill are now on the fence, meaning reconciliation becomes THAT much easier once the time is right. Do those sound like the actions of a Republican appeaser? Not bloody likely.

If he WERE an appeaser, he would’a scrapped the bills and started over. The Republicans would then hammer him for not focusing on the economy while dragging things out as long as possible. Advantage: Republicans.
