Mr. Burns
I started working on this cartoon shortly before today’s shocking announcement that Mitt Romney has chosen Paul “Eat the Poor and Elderly” Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate. If I hadn’t been nearly finished drawing it by the time the news broke, I probably would’ve sidelined it for something on that topic, instead.
In the meantime, this cartoon addresses recent attacks by the Romney campaign on Obama’s “green” energy record. In particular, the candidate is quoted as saying Obama has an “unhealthy obsession” with green jobs, and cites the Solyndra “scandal” as evidence. I find this amusingly hypocritical, considering how unapologetically beholden Romney and the Republican Party in general are to the oil industry.
