This is one of the most powerful political cartoons I’ve seen in ages. The reference is brilliantly entertaining while very, -very- effectively driving the message home, and it’s all backed up with amazing artwork. You probably get this a lot (especially after the somethingawful Comedy Goldmine feature,) but this level of quality -needs- to be published somewhere.

Please release a book, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

This is awesome! I discovered your site today in school while “working” on an assignment and was trilled to find a site with political editorial cartoons!

Even though I am for Obama, you just have to laugh at this!

Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding.

But look at it this way. Had Frodo simply tossed the ring into the lava at his first opportunity, then Cheney, er, I mean *Gollum* would never have fallen in.

Think about it.

Obama is standing in for Isildur in this cartoon, with Russ Feingold in the role of Elrond.

So I guess that means we won’t be rid of Cheney for another 3,000 years.

just so you know, i am supposed to be writing a paper analyzing a political cartoon. i want to use this one so badly it hurts but a requirement of the assignment states that it must be published in a major daily newspaper, so i ended up using something else. but just so you know, i asked for permission to bend the rules and was denied. and i keep gazing at this cartoon instead of writing my paper.

Man, it must sting a bit to see Jon Stewart doing a worse version of this joke two years later.

It’s great how it took you one month to do this joke and most people didn’t realize it for a full year and a half

LOL!
I love this joke here. xD
