How Elon Musk Stole Democracy!
Some insufferable libscold’s probably gonna come in here wagging their finger about how “those claims that Starlink was used to rig the election were debunked, you sound just like the 2020 election deniers” or something like that.
Never mind that only one specific, widespread claim of vote-rigging in 2024 has been “debunked,” to my awareness, but I was deliberately careful about my word choice in this cartoon in order to leave it open to broader interpretation. I’m not saying vote totals were directly manipulated or suppressed, though I’m also still not convinced of the impossibility of such an event, given the circumstances. What I am saying is that, at a minimum, Elon Musk definitely did engage in election fraud—this fact is indisputable because he did it openly.
It’s like quibbling over the difference between calling Donald Trump a “convicted rapist” or the more technically-accurate but also less-well known term “adjudicated rapist.” It is absolutely true that Donald Trump is a convicted felon, and “adjudicated rapist” means that Trump has been legally declared a rapist, even if he hasn’t been found criminally liable for the crime which he definitely committed.
He’s a rapist who’s also been convicted of felonies separate from all the raping he did. Think of it like Lionel Hutz’s “No Money Down” ad—“Donald Trump: Convicted, Rapist.”
I’m also 100% certain Trump at least attempted to cheat in the 2024 election just like I was certain he did in 2020, and probably 2016 as well. You know why? Because he FUCKING SAID HE WAS GOING TO. And even if he hadn’t, the accusation is always a confession with these MAGA freaks in the same way virulent homophobes who turn out to be gay themselves is projection. As a habitually cheating cheater who constantly cheats, Trump knows that he’s cheating in any given competition, and because he’s too mentally-limited to imagine anything different from his own experiences, like a week-old goldfish in a plastic bag at a carnival, he assumes everyone else is cheating, too.
As for this cartoon’s overall concept, that was inspired mainly by Elon Musk doing his part to prevent government funds from helping children with cancer instead of being wasted on his worthless, self-aggrandizing, fraudulent Starship boondoggle right around Christmas. I made the connection chiefly by way of the scene in which Cindy Lou Who catches the Grinch shoving her family’s Christmas tree up their chimney, and just like Elon does practically every single time he opens his mouth, the Grinch “thought up a lie, and he thought it up quick,” although in Elon’s case, it doesn’t involve being “smart.”
