LOL funny, but you forgot “I’ve been in 57 states, (with) I think one left to go.” and what about bowling for the Special Olympics, or, or, or “Anybody Gone Into Whole Foods Lately And See What They Charge For Arugula?” HAHAHA, nooo, what DO they charge for Arugula. HAHAHA. And lets not forget “I’m running to be commander of chief on a record of standing up for our wounded warriors.” Commander of chief…..funny. I wonder if he ever got a hold of the president of Canada……”I would immediately call the president of Mexico, the president of Canada to try to amend NAFTA because I think that we can get labor agreements in that agreement right now.
Well thanks for the laughs………..Obama.
I like how only two of those quotes had minor gaffs, and were otherwise in perfect English. Yeah, Obama is just as bad as Bush when it comes to speaking. Oh wait….
Give up, jaycee – you make yourself look as challenged as lil’ Bush. Whole books have been filled with the man’s idiotic quotes.
They say the triumph of America is that just anyone can grow up to be President. And the tragedy is that he did.
my favorite quote is:
I’ve been fighting alongside of Acorn on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote in Illinois, Acorn was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.
unerlion: If you only see “two minor gaffs” and “otherwise perfect English,” you need a freshman bonehead English refresher course. bush has NO grasp of grammar or syntax, and apparently neither do you! You didn’t learnt rite, maybe you just be too dumb.
Bush may have been a true gaffer, but neither of you 2 a-holes are willing to concede on the same issue. The fact is, Bush botched freely and often…and Obama is a roaring retard without his teleprompter which he needs as much as Charlie McCarthy needed his puppeteer’s hand up his jacket. Of the two, I find Bush much more entertaining, and Obama to be a lying deceitful sack of liquid garbage who sullies the office he occupies.
Sure, every politician screws up from time to time while they’re speaking, but Bush wasn’t a very good public speaker at all. Regardless of your opinion of him as a president, you pretty much have to admit that.
benny bergall I ask you, how do you know that Obama is a “roaring retard” without his teleprompter? Have you had many discussions with him? Do you think Bush didn’t have a teleprompter? I assure you he did. I would find bush more “entertaining” as well if I could forget that during his term as president he failed this country miserably. Perhaps you find the fact that he lied to the world on numerous occasions as entertainment. If you didn’t know, the presidents primary duty is to uphold the constitution. That is, uphold not violate. I don’t recall reading anywhere that he is supposed to entertain us like some clown. benny if you have the capacity try thinking for yourself and stop watching fox news. If your comments weren’t so pathetic I would find your ignorance as being entertaining.
I is like obama and his my friend. Bush was soooooo dum and didnt get the how to talk to the best.
In response to many of the comments here: This cartoon was drawn in 2006–see the date in the bottom-right corner of the seventh panel?
So how could I know Obama would be President someday, and would say those things jaycee noted?
I may seem to have prescience on some matters, but believe me, it’s just a coincidence. If I could see 2-3 years into the future, do you think I’d choose to put it towards being an unsuccessful cartoonist?
Beautiful comic. The expression on the latino guy is fabulous.
it’s wrong to conflate Bush’s probable language-processing disability and his evilness. lots of people can’t grammar [intentional] and yet do not screw up the country or the world.
i think i remember Bush’s spanish being at least passable… perhaps better than his english? he at least tried to be bilingual, and he was fairly ok to immigrants (this is the only thing i liked about him).
on the other hand, the mexican guy has more of a point if you contrasted him with the majority of anti-immigrant regular citizens, and their monolingualism* or less-than-mastery of their first/only language. of course some of that is due to language difficulties and/or faulty education, too. but there IS a double standard going on (so your point is accurate, even if i don’t agree with how you showed it).
*i assume most xenophobes are monolingual. as a language teacher, i’ve noticed it’s fairly common that trying to learn a foreign language helps you realize that its speakers are real people.
generally, i like your cartoons, though.
Come on now, theres no motivation or reason or call for calling President Obama anything of those things benny, the essential plain-faced no-bullshit fact of the matter is you don’t like a black man being in a position of authority and it scares you so you have to compensate with foul degrading language and delusional perceptions.
You’re not even a racist, you’re just a pathetic “internet tough guy”, and its ridiculous behavior that will come around some day to bite you in the ass or at the very least make you ashamed of yourself.
Never, not once, not a single person during Bush’s tenure, ever went so far out of bounds with mockery, foul language, and outright insult. The worst people could do is quote him, as you see in the comic above. He is your president, and regardless of whether or not you voted for him (or he was installed by a gaggle of judges ), whether you agree with him or not, he is 1) a human being 2) your President and thus deserving of the minimum of respect and deferrence. If the left could do it for 8 years, why couldn’t the right last more than 5 seconds before the “Obummer” and “HUSSEIN!” retardation came out? Well, because the right are fucking morons and wouldn’t know decent behavior even if it were labeled and sold at walmart. For shame.
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”
Hilarious, huh?
